More 1,150 Southwestern Electric members are without power this evening as strong storms sweep across the bistate area, bringing down limbs and power lines. At 5:30 p.m., 1,050 Madison County members were without power and 100 members in Bond County had lost service. Members in Montgomery and Macoupin counties were also affected by storm.

Crews were on site at several locations, surveying damage and making repairs. 

Members are cautioned to avoid downed and low-hanging lines, which may be energized or become energized at any time.
