Operation Round Up (ORU) is a charitable program governed, funded, and supported by Southwestern Electric Cooperative members. Co-op members may elect to have the amount of their monthly electric bills rounded up to the nearest dollar—an additional charge of between 1 and 99 cents.* The rounded-up amount goes into a charitable fund that the governing committee allocates toward community projects ranging from education and athletics to veterans’ affairs and the arts. You can start or stop contributing to ORU at any time.
Sign up for ORU by:
- Downloading the Operation Round Up enrollment form and returning it to us.
- Checking the Operation Round Up enrollment box on your next electric bill.
- Calling us at (800) 637-8667 and asking to be enrolled in Operation Round Up.
*Accounts on levelized billing contribute exactly $1 per month.
Applying for an ORU Grant
Community organizations that serve Southwestern Electric’s service territory are encouraged to apply for ORU grants. Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. Applications are reviewed quarterly, approximately on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1. The governing committee reports its grant decisions on each application within 10 days of the meeting date. You can download the ORU grant application. You'll find the grant here.
