Southwestern Electric crews worked with Ameren personnel this morning to restore power to 3,600 Madison County members served by three Southwestern Electric Cooperative substations. Crews sourced the outage to an Ameren transmission line that serves Southwestern’s Edwardsville, Fruit Road and St. Jacob substations. Ameren crews rerouted power shortly after 6 a.m. to energize the subs.
The outage affected members from Highway 140 south to the Madison-St. Clair County line, and from Maryville east to Grantfork.
Southwestern linemen were in the field overnight responding to wind-related outages. Crews remain in the field this morning, responding to outages in Bond, Madison and Fayette counties.
