Southwestern Electric crews continue to work with Ameren personnel this afternoon to resolve faults affecting the cooperative’s Fruit Road and Edwardsville Substations. At 4:20 p.m., operations and engineering personnel had restored power to 535 Madison County members. 

About 1,765 members in the Edwardsville area remain without power. Crews expect to complete repairs and restore service this afternoon.

The outage, which began at 12:15 p.m., originally affected 2,300 members from Hamel south to I-70, and from Edwardsville east to Grantfork.

Update: Crews restored power to Southwestern's Edwardsville Substation at 4:35 p.m.
