More than 1,100 Southwestern Electric members remain without power this evening after a strong storm damaged an Ameren transmission line which supplies power to Southwestern’s Shafter and Vandalia Substations. 

Southwestern crews and Ameren operations personnel are currently on site and making repairs.

The outage is affecting members from Ramsey south to Hurricane Creek, and from Mulberry Grove west to Route 51.

Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging power lines. The lines may be energized, or become energized without warning.
