Southwestern Electric crews have restored power to more than 600 members after a thunderstorm pushed through the co-op’s service area earlier this evening, leaving about 1,275 members without power.
At 7:45 p.m., 530 Madison County members remained without service. About 50 members were without power in Fayette County, while 40 Bond County members were without service. Co-op members in Effingham, Montgomery, Shelby, and Macoupin counties were also affected by the storm.
Crews continue to make repairs throughout Southwestern’s service area.
Members are cautioned to avoid downed and low-hanging lines, which may be energized or become energized at any time.
