Southwestern Electric linemen, contract crews, and linemen from three neighboring Illinois Electric Cooperatives will continue to work overnight across Southwestern’s service area to repair damage from this morning’s storm.

Although crews are making headway, damage is scattered throughout the cooperative’s service area, and progress is slow. Consequently, estimated times of restoration aren’t available.

Southwestern Electric is asking members who are still without power to prepare for an overnight outage. Members who depend on electricity to power a medical device are advised to find a safe, comfortable shelter until their power is restored.
