An Ameren transmission line fault interrupted power to Southwestern Electric Cooperative’s Sefton and Confidence substations shortly before 5 a.m., leaving about 1,650 Fayette County members without service. Southwestern Electric crews are working with Ameren personnel to identify the source of the fault.
Co-op crews are also on site and making repairs east of Edwardsville, where this morning’s storm interrupted power to 20 members near Pin Oak Road.
Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging power lines. The lines may be energized, or become energized without warning.
