The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Southwestern Illinois in effect until 7 p.m. The advisory predicts sustained winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts reaching 45 mph.
The winds are likely to break branches and carry debris into power lines, resulting in isolated outages across Southwestern’s service area. Engineering and operations personnel are monitoring the weather and crews are prepared to respond.
Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging lines, as they may be energized or become energized at any time.
