MISO has lifted the emergency warning, but extremely cold temperatures across the Midwest continue to strain the electrical grid. We're asking members to conserve energy through the weekend to help maintain grid stability. Your efforts to limit energy use — as much as you are safely able — make a meaningful difference.
How You Can Help
- Lower your thermostat a few degrees, but stay comfortable
- Minimize the use of major appliances, like ovens, ranges, washers and dryers
- Turn off extra televisions, computers, and lights when not in use
- Limit hot water use
- Delay non-essential electricity use when you can
Your voluntary conservation makes a real difference in keeping power reliable for everyone in our community. We appreciate your continued cooperation as we navigate the extreme cold together.
Stay warm and stay safe.
