About 400 Southwestern Electric members lost power shortly after 10 a.m. this morning when a fuse at the cooperative’s Edgewood Substation activated, isolating a fault. The outage is affecting members in Fayette and Effingham counties, southeast of St. Elmo to I-57.
Crews have been dispatched to determine the source of the fault and make repairs. Members with partial power are advised to shut off their electricity at their main breaker until crews have restored service.
