Levelized Billing

Southwestern Electric Cooperative offers a levelized billing option to help members avoid substantial changes in the amount of their electric bill from one month to the next. Levelized Billing effectively flattens out the peaks and valleys that come with seasonal changes in your electric usage, making it easier for you to forecast your bills and plan your budget. The amount due may vary by a few dollars from month to month.

When you sign up for levelized billing, your bill will based on a rolling 12-month average. To qualify, you must have at least 12 months of billing history with Southwestern Electric and no more than one late payment during the past 12 months.

Levelized Billing Program Requirements:

  1. The member's current account must be on line for at least 12 months and have a zero balance before starting the program.
  2. The member must demonstrate a history of consistently paying their bill on time.
  3. All monthly payments must be made by their due date.
  4. Only one late payment per year is allowed. The member will be removed from the program if payments are not made in a timely manner.
  5. If for any reason the consumer decides to discontinue Levelized Billing or if the account is disconnected, the actual account balance will be payable in full on the due date of their next bill.
