Wednesday, November 27, 2019

At 7:15 a.m., about 200 Southwestern Electric members were without service. In Madison County, about 120 members were without power, while in Bond County, 65 members were without service.

Linemen restored power to 400 Madison County members earlier this morning by isolating damage near Southwestern’s Peters Substation, north of Collinsville.

The National Weather Service has posted a high wind advisory for Southwestern Illinois in effect until 3 p.m. Sustained winds of 35 mph with gusts reaching 60 mph are expected to bring down trees and power lines.

The highest winds are expected to subside by 10 a.m.

Members are cautioned to avoid all downed and low-hanging lines, as they may be energized or become energized at any time.
