116 Members Remain Without Power
Monday, July 24, 2017

As of 7:30 a.m., Southwestern Electric crews are working to restore power the remaining 116 members without power this morning due to an early Sunday morning storm that broughtdown power lines, snapped utility poles, and interrupted power to thousands of residents in Illinois and Missouri, including members in six of the 11 counties served by Southwestern Electric Cooperative. Progress was slowed yesterday due to the extensive damage and scattered sites across Madison County.

Southwestern Electric crews expect to have power restored to all members by the end of the day.

Members who see downed power lines should stay clear of the area and contact Southwestern Electric Cooperative at (800) 637-8667.

In addition, people clearing away debris after a storm should first survey the area for sagging or fallen wires.
