Sandy Grapperhaus Appointed to Board of Directors
Friday, July 29, 2011

Southwestern Electric Cooperative announced the appointment of Sandy Grapperhaus to its board of directors today. An opening on the board became available due to the death of Jim Grapperhaus on July 12. Mr. Grapperhaus had served as a director for District I, representing Macoupin, Madison and St. Clair Counties, since February 2006. He was 72.

The co-op’s eight directors unanimously selected Sandy Grapperhaus (née Kampwerth) for this position. She will serve the remainder of her predecessor’s elected term, which expires in September 2013.

"This is a qualified candidate who shares our belief in the cooperative way of doing things. We’re very pleased to have her on-board," says Alan Libbra, president of the co-op’s board of directors.

Sandy Grapperhaus, age 47, has been a Southwestern Electric Cooperative member for 25 years. She works in Korte Construction Company’s Highland office as an executive assistant to the chief executive officer and chief financial officer. Sandy and her husband, Dan, reside southwest of Troy. They have three children.

"I am honored to fill Jim’s spot on the board and look forward to serving my fellow Southwestern Electric Cooperative members," remarks Sandy Grapperhaus.
