    About 125 members in Bond County lost power this afternoon when lightning struck a utility pole northwest of Keyesport.

    Southwestern Electric crews have restored power to all members in the co-op’s service area. Linemen restored the final outage at 5:45 p.m. The repairs marked the end of a challenging week for co-op members and personnel.

    Southwestern linemen, operations and engineering personnel, and forestry and contract crews worked throughout the night, restoring power to 200 members in four counties. As of 8 a.m. Friday, 80 members remained without service. The cooperative expects to complete repairs today.

    Southwestern Electric linemen, operations and engineering personnel, and forestry and contract crews will work through the night to restore service to 280 co-op members who remain without power this evening. Joe Richardson, the co-op’s communications coordinator, said operations personnel expect to complete repairs sometime Friday.

    Southwestern linemen and contract crews restored power to 1,500 cooperative members overnight. At 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, about 3,175 members were without service. As of 7:30 a.m., 1,675 members remain without power. The outages are spread across six counties.
