    Line crews are working to clear a tree from a transmission line in Madison County this hour. Following clearance work and subsequent repairs, engineering and operations personnel will energize Southwestern’s Edwardsville and Fruit substations.

    Southwestern Electric and Ameren personnel are working to isolate the source of an outage affecting more than 2,000 cooperative members tonight. Shortly before 10:30 p.m., 2,270 members in Madison County lost power when an Ameren transmission line providing power to the co-op’s Edwardsville and Fruit substations failed.

    Southwestern members in Madison County experienced outages overnight and this morning after high winds and rain damaged lines west of the cooperative’s Edwardsville Substation. After identifying the source of the outage, crews de-energized lines to make repairs. Linemen restored power shortly before 7:30 a.m.

    About 350 members in the area south of Troy and east of Collinsville are without power this afternoon due to an underground cable fault. The outage is expected to last about four hours as line crews make repairs.
  • Tree Damages Line, Interrupts Power to 180 Fayette County Members Thursday, October 31, 2019
    About 180 members southeast of Herrick are without service this morning after a tree fell through power lines, downing several spans of wire. Crews are currently on site, making repairs. As of 11:50 a.m., no estimated time of restoration was available.
